Rombalds Stride

With my partner due to go to New Zealand for a few weeks from early March I entered this event even though, at 23 miles, it was a further than I really wanted to go. But we had said during the Coniston Swimrun that we needed to do a few hills in preparation for such events since we live in the Manchester flatlands, and it is an event I have entered before and for assorted reasons failed to turn up to.

A, for me, given my ongoing calf muscles that need a good warm up these days, overly flat and potentially runable opening couple or three miles to the first proper checkpoint after which the mix of trail running and hard walking I favour these days started as we headed up onto Baildon Moor. (I say we, in fact I’ve seldom done an event of such length and had so little contact with fellow competiors).

I finished. I can’t say much  more on either this or other things I’ve been doing.
